DESCRIPTION OF THE INNOVATIVE PROJECT
In the maritime sector, as in the automotive sector, size, weight and autonomy are critical issues that need to be addressed. To date, there are examples in the sector where some of the critical issues have been partially addressed, but despite clear and growing efforts aimed at spreading electric charging stations, autonomy is still limited as there are no alternative systems to the established Power System.
The idea of the project was born precisely to improve and make sustainable maritime mobility more efficient, allowing to overcome one of the obstacles to application currently encountered in the sector, in particular the autonomy of electric navigation and the scarcity of charging points, by creating a Portable Power Package, a kind of “electric tank” consisting of a portable mini-generator that uses a mini-gas turbine with a Wankel engine as a heat engine, with LPG or methane (currently) or hydrogen (status under investigation) as fuel.

Purpose
The Power System project is aimed at creating prototypes of compact microgenerators of clean energy to expand the autonomy of electric marine vehicles.
Results
The Energy System project is under development was successfully completed in March 2023.
